boot F28069 from flash

Helo,

I have a controlCARD F28069MPZT and Driver 8301 Dev. Now, I have implanted my code on Flash of microcontroller. But the problem is when I supplied power for driver, the controlCARD did not run, but if I connect controlCARD through USB in the same time with Driver, it worked and controlled well my motor.

I noticed that at the moment I connect cable USB, 2 leds D2 and D4 blinked and somehow the connection with USB port charged the microcontroller and made it wake up. I think that maybe that there are 3 possibilities :

1 . The connection USB supplies power for FTDI chip and it activated microcontroller

2. Configuration in my code that doesn't allow microcontroller to boot from flash itself after being supplied by Driver

3. Switches configuration for Boot Mode.

But I do not still find out solutions. I wonder if anyone has the same problems before, pls help

Hi Maxime,

What is the status of SW3's leftmost position? In order to achieve standalone boot, this switch must be down (OFF).
(here I'm assuming that you are using the isolated F28069 controlCARD - TMDSCNCD28069MISO)

Hi Brett,

Yes we are using the isolated F28069 controlCARD - TMDSCNCD28069MISO. The SW3 is ON (button 1 and 2 from the SW3). I'm going to check the schematics to understand the effect of this switch, then I try to set it OFF and I'll come back to you!

I tried and that's working!
Now I would like to understand what's happening when the SW3 is ON, could you help me?

If I switch off only the TRST signal it start in standalone. So I think that's the FT2232H pulls this signal down until we supply it?

The ISO7220 is the 'problem' here. If the USB side of the isolator is NOT powered && the C2000 side is powered, the ISO chip will drive all its outputs HIGH. This is a problem for the TRSTn signal which should be LOW in order for the device to boot standalone. Please take a look at the ISO chip's datasheet for more information.
