We are investigating the cause and the fix.

CCS v6.1.3 is not following the correct (and critical) link order we define in Project Settings --> Build --> Link Order

This is similar to the compiler bug that affected us with 6.2.0-6.2.2 (the fix for the compiler was to hard code these link order settings)

This appears to be a bug and I will file a bug report to get this fixed.

In the meantime, you can work around this by removing and re-adding the rts library to the link order. In the Link Order tab, select the rts2800_fpu32.lib and click on Remove. Then click on Add, select it from the list and add it back in and move it to the correct location in the list.

The link order for F2806x should be:
-l"rts2800_fpu32.lib"
2806xRevB_FastSpinROMSymbols_fpu32.lib
IQmath_fpu32.lib

OMG,

Thanks for the notification. I'm using CCSv6.1.3 and got a lot of problems in motor ID for over one month. :(

(But I used CCSv6.1.3 with F28054F). And this is the definition of link order in my project with CCSv6.1.3:

this will be fixed in CCS v6.2.0 scheduled for a July release

until then, just make sure you don't use v6.1.3

either should be fine. check the output of the compiler to see the order that files were actually linked.
I happen to be using Version: 6.1.1.00022

Shouldn't this bug be posted at the top of the Code Composer forum. Also, shouldn't there be a note (i.e. IMPORTANT:....) in the CCSv6 wiki (i.e. processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Category:Code_Composer_Studio_v6).

That's a good question on how to revert...I couldn't figure it out either so I posted to the CCS forum

Chris:

given that CCS 6.2.0 is out, can that be used instead of rolling back to versions of CCS prior to 6.1.3 ? We also want a solutions that is Windows 10 compatible (which I think may have partly triggered some of the CCS 6.1.3 issues you had documented earlier in the year)

what I am asking - Is use of TI CCS ver 6.2.x a solution compatible with InstaSPIN instead of reverting back to a version of CCS < 6.1.3 ? It's a forward looking question instead of a backward looking question. I'm also hoping the InstaSPIN team is regression testing with CCS 6.2.x going forward. From a product feature standpoint, having a solution that is Windows 10 compatible is much better than having a Windows XP solution (for my application) due to IT constraints.

I too am interested to know whether CCS v6.2.x is a working / recommended version for MotorWare v16 (or v17, when that is released).
