F28335 Peripheral Explorer Kit: Error Connecting to Target (Error -151 @ 0x0)

Hello all,

I have been using the F28335 Control Card with the docking station for a couple of years, I recently ordered the Peripheral Explorer kit. When I try to debug and launch, I receive the following error:

The same Control Card works absolutely fine with a docking station I have been using (and with the same target configuration file), so I don't think anything is wrong with the control card. I did notice another thing in my device manager,

While using the docking station I observe the XDS100 connection under the USB's

However when I connect the peripheral explorer kit, they don't show up

Like I mentioned before, when I move over the control card to the docking station, everything runs fine.

I am using CCS Version: 4.2.4.00033 (that's what the resource CD with the peripheral explorer kit says)

Hi Prashant,

I agree with your analysis.

It appears that the FTDI chip (which is the chip that works as the xds100v1 emulator) on your Peripheral Explorer kit may have not gotten programmed correctly by our board manufacturer.

Can you attempt to reprogram the FTDI chip using the procedure below:

(if this doesn't work, do any new Device Manager USB entries appear when you plug the USB cable into the Peripheral Explorer baseboard?)

Hi Brett,

After reprogramming the FTDI chip, the device gets detected as the XDS100v1.

Before I reprogrammed the FTDI chip, the device appeared as "USB Serial Converter A" & "USB Serial Converter B"
