Hi,

I'm working on a 24V brushless motor with Launchpad F28027F and BOOSTXL-DRV8301.

I'd like to know the motor position, even if motor is not controlled (I suppose SVPWM needs to be active, with 000 or 111 value).

Is FAST algorithm able to do this?

For instance, if I used an encoder, it will be an easy task : motor is not controlled anymore and I turn the motor shaft by hand, encoder still gives the position behavior. But what if the system is sensorless?


Please confirm that if EN_GATE (driver DRV8301) is inactive, there's no way to succeed getting the position if motor is actuated by hand. But if EN_GATE is active?
