TMS28377D DAC vs ADC

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F28377D

Hello TI,

For testing prupose, we intend to use simultaneously the ADCs and the DACs of a TMS320f28377D (one reading the analog value, the other writing out the value to observe it on a scope).

I was wondering if there was any caution to take in order to perform such operation as we intend to sample at 20kHz, 16 bits on 12 ADC channels ( only 3 values are set back on DAC)

- As for GPIOs multiplexing i didnt see any specific caution

- As for peripheral, when DACs are used are there restrictions ( beside the number of channels available) for use of the 4 ADCs?

- As for Voltage reference, do we need something special?

Thank you!

  • Hi user4565873,

What you are trying to achieve is possible.

    1. GPIO muxing is not required for the ADC and DAC.

    2. When the DAC is enabled, the corresponding ADC channel cannot be used to sample an external signal. That channel can only sample the voltage on the DAC output.

    3. The DAC and ADC can share the same reference voltage, VREFHI.
