launchxl--f28377s dimensions

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CONTROLSUITE

I need the dimensions of this board and exact placement of the connectors on the board with real numbers.

Thank you,

Don Morgan

  • Don,

If you download controlSUITE, you will find a folder for the F28377S LaunchPad under TI\controlSUITE\development_kits\LAUNCHXL-F28377S. The HwDevPkg folder contains schematic files and collateral that should provide all of the relevant information that you are looking for. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

  • I have been through every file I can find in controlSUITE and I can't find dimensions for the board or placement for the connectors. Sorry to belabor this. Could you be so kind as to tell me which file? I am sorry but I really can't find them.
  • Hello Don,

You are going to want to look at the board file, it should be called "LAUNCHXL-F28377S.brd" or similar.

If the dimensions are not specifically stated then you could use the grid spacing to measure them.

    Kind regards,

    Billy Stevers
  • Don,

If it helps, I measured my LAUNCHXL-F28377S board with with an electronic digital caliper:

    5.1025 in (129.60 mm) x 2.3035 in (58.52 mm) and 0.7245 in (18.40 mm) high.

  • Thank you for your help but I was finally able to find a program to open the .brd file and I was able to get what I needed.

I am using it to help automate some boards for an IC we are creating.

If TI really wanted to make it easy to integrate into other custom fixtures, they would produce a mechanical drawing with sizes and center points for the connectors, etc.

  • Don,

Thank you for your reply.  As just a reminder from the "STANDARD TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR EVALUATION MODULES", the LaunchPad is for evaluation purposes only and not intended to be used in a finished product.

1.1 EVMs are intended solely for product or software developers for use in a research and development setting to facilitate feasibility evaluation, experimentation, or scientific analysis of TI semiconductors products. EVMs have no direct function and are not finished products. EVMs shall not be directly or indirectly assembled as a part or subassembly in any finished product. For clarification, any software or software tools provided with the EVM (“Software”) shall not be subject to the terms and conditions set forth herein but rather shall be subject to the applicable terms and conditions that accompany such Software

1.2 EVMs are not intended for consumer or household use. EVMs may not be sold, sublicensed, leased, rented, loaned, assigned, or otherwise distributed for commercial purposes by Users, in whole or in part, or used in any finished product or production system.

  • It will be used in a lab by engineers who data. I chose your product because I have used a lot of TI DSPs in the past, I hope this disclaimer and poor documentation is not intended to imply that it won't work
  • Don,

The LaunchPad should work fine, but since we do not have any visibility of its use, I just wanted to make you aware of the intent for this product.  In other words, it was designed with the intent to be used for evaluation purposes in a lab environment.  I hope this clarifies my post.
