700W ILPFC EVM

Hello Sirs:

We have purchased the two phase interleaved PFC (700W ILPFC EVM). Only until now, we realise, (as it's stated in the manual), the power supply should start with 60VAC then 110VAC, then increase to 220VAC. But the current issue is, we don't have a auto transformer at hand.

I'm asking, if we can test it directly under 220VAC by pluging in the socket.... As a commercial products, we hope it works?

Best regards

Lin

  • There is a NTC current limiting thermistor at the AC input which will limit the current during cold start. So you should be able to start it with 220Vac input. But we cannot confirm that it will not fail as we did not include any test data in the user manual (with 220Vac start-up inrush current).

But you should not apply ac input when the thermistor is hot.

  • Hello Mr. Shamim:
Thank you very much for your kind response.

We managed to get the autotransfomer today. However, when the hardware setup is done (follow the manual), we apply 60Vac (as per the instruction, we use the internal 12Vdc power supply M2 module, which is powered by PFC output. That means, at this moment, the input of M2 is rectified 60Vac.) But the LED of control card didn't flash.

Since the detailed schematic of M2 module is not given controlsuit... maybe rectified 60Vac is not high enough to enable M2 produce a 12Vdc voltage. (If M2 needs 390Vdc as its input, it would be a deadlock. M2 needs 390Vdc output of PFC, which needs 12Vdc from M2 to power on.)

Or we simply use the external 12Vdc power supply directly. Something wrong on the manual or ...?

    Best regards
