    1. IPD techniques are suitable for extremely high saliency PMSM motors
    2. This really takes some expertise.
    Some elements are discussed in MotorWare write-up for proj_lab21
    We also have an HFI-IPD library in controlSUITE (you must request the library and license under license) which includes a similar tuning guide.

    As I have warned others, this is not for the novice and is not "instant" like the rest of InstaSPIN.
    You must have high saliency for this to work at low load.
    And then as load increases and the current increases the saliency of your machine will reduce, which makes it very difficult for the algorithm to continue to work. Even extremely high saliency motors will not be able to achieve 100% load start-up as the saturation effect will make the HFI (or other sensorless observer) not accurate enough.
