DRV8312-C2-KIT Current Sensing Circuit

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8312

I want to be able to measure the sensed current through an external adc connected through J5, just like F28035 is on J1. There is no information on the schematics about the current sensing/adjustment/amplification done on the eval board. The DevPGK includes the schematics which show as though the current values simply come off the motor lines and go into the MCU, but there are clear signal adjustment/amplification circuitry in between on the kit. Is there a schematic other than DRV8312EVM schematics that includes that part? What are the voltage ranges going into the adc inside F28035 as input after the current circuits? What are the high and low voltage references connected to F28035 for the internal adc, and which pins are they connected through?

On a side note, I understand the current limit for the DRV8312 on the board is set to be 8.8A, is this the total or the single phase current limit?

  • the current sensing circuits are shown on page 1 of the schematic.
the voltage signal to the ADC pin needs to be 0 to 3.3V

I know you aren't using InstaSPIN, but the discussion regarding current sense scaling and polarity that is discussed in SPRUHJ1 chapter 5 would still be useful for you.

The peak output current of the DRV8312 is 6.5A
The current scaling of the EVM is +/- 8.65A
