H63C2 Concerto Experimenter Kit Contents

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CONTROLSUITE

Hi there, I have just purchased a load of H63C2 Concerto Experimenter Kits and they seem to only come with one USB cable which means it can't be powered and programmed straight from the box without purchasing another USB cable. I have ordered these kits before and they used to come with a mini and micro USB cables such that the board would work straight from the box however this does not seem to be the case anymore.

Can you please confirm what the contents of these boxes should be and should they come with 2 USB cables as currently it would appear a second USB cable is required.

Many Thanks

  • Hi Peter,

The other USB connector is meant for User development of USB based applications that can be found in controlSuite. You need only one cable - the one which comes with the kit.

  • Hi Peter,

    Thank you for reporting this.

There should be 2 mini-B USB cables in this kit.  Any newly manufactured kits will include 2 mini-B cables.

I am aware of an issue we had during the first few builds of this kit.  There we mistakenly only shipped 1 per kit.  My suspicion is that you have received one of these older kits (note that many distributors don't treat kit inventory as first-in first-out).

Could you provide the LOT number for the kit you received?  It is included on the printed kit box's white label.  I just want to make sure that our manufacturers haven't regressed on this issue.

    Thank you,
    Brett

  • Hi Brett, thanks for the response. The LOT number I have is: 0615006WBD

I ordered 5 of these kits and all are the same LOT number and none came with 2 cables

    Thanks

  • Hi Peter,

Thanks again.  The LOT number tells us that your kits were built in June 2015. This was just before we found the problem.

I double-checked with the manufacturer of this kit:  Anything built in or after August 2015 should contain 2 mini-B usb cables.

    Thank you,
    Brett

  • Hi Brett, thanks for the response. Your email suggests to me that these are therefore kits that exhibit the problem with being shipped with only 1 USB cable. Given they were made just before the issue was identified. I assume the kits were made, shipped and then the issue regarding their contents was identified. The kits were built before August 2015 when the problem had been resolved.

Therefore can a set of USB cables be shipped to us as the kits incomplete?

    Many Thanks

  • Hi Peter,

I will contact you off-forum and we can discuss this topic further there.

    Thank you,
    Brett
