Debug C2000 with SmartRF06 ?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2538

Hi,

we have a couple of SmartRF06 development boards lying around and would like to use the onboard XDS100v3 debugger to program and debug our custom C2000 F2802x and F2806x boards.

I have tried starting a debug session in CCS with the SmartRF06 connected and XDS100v3 target connection selected and I get the following error:

"Error connecting to the target:
(Error -233 @ 0x0)
The JTAG IR and DR scan-paths cannot circulate bits, they may be broken.
An attempt to scan the JTAG scan-path has failed.
The target's JTAG scan-path appears to be broken
with a stuck-at-ones or stuck-at-zero fault.
(Emulation package 6.0.228.0)"

I have removed the jumpers of P408 connector of SmartRF06 and connected the left side of P408 to the respective pins of the target C2000

  • Hi,

Are the boards individually getting programmed? I mean when not connected together.

    Regards,
    Gautam
  • I'm not sure I understand your question, but the F28069 target board is successfully programmed using the XDS100v2 debugger of a F28027 Launchpad (we have soldered wire to the JTAG signal and connected them to the custom board C2000). Also I remember using the SmartRF06 board to program the CC2538 evaluation board it came with.

My question is whether the XDS100v3 on the SmartRF06 can be used with other target mcus that are in general compatible with the XDS100

This is what I wanted to know.

Yes... XDS100v3 is very well compatible with C2000 family.
