DCCAPCTL.bit.CAPMODE in TMS320F2837xS Technical Reference Manual on P1638

CAPMODE is used to determine how to control capture in digital compara submodule.

when this bit is 0, DCCAP is controlled by PULSESEL.

when this bit is 1, Type-4 addition, DCCAP function is controlled by software.

I wonder to know how to control it by software.

no where you can find to explain it in TMS320F2837xS Technical Reference Manual.

  • Hi Mao,

    If DCCAPCTL[CAPMODE]==1 :

    When a DCEVTFILT occurs and the counter capture is enabled, then the current TBCNT value is captured in the active register. When the respective trip event occurs – it will set the CAPSTS flag and further trip (capture) events are ignored until this bit is cleared. CAPSTS can be cleared by writing to CAPCLR bit in DCCAPCTL register and it re-triggers the capture mechanism.

    I will note this down as missing documentation. This description should be added to the TRM in the next release.

    Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

  • Dear Hrishi,

    Thanks for your reply.

    what about OSHTSYNC bit, SELFCLRTRREM bit in TBCTL2 register.

    Both two bit are all lack of details either.
