Problems Clearing Flash on TMS320LF2406A

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320LF2406A

We are having problems "clearing" the flash memory in several TMS320LF2406A devices.  We are wondering if perhaps the flash is "locked" with a security code.  How can we tell if the flash is "locked" with a security code?  The devices are in-circuit, and have an SCI interface to a host processor, that we usually use to program our application code via the BOOT ROM method; thus we have the capability to load and run programs in RAM via the BOOT ROM.  Again, the question is, "How can we tell if the flash is "locked" with a security code?

    Eric,

The CSM for 240x devices is described in theTMS320LF/LC240xA DSP Controllers Reference Guide www.ti.com/lit/SPRU357

If you have the capability to connect a JTAG connector and code composer  you can try to unlock the device using the password match flow described in appendix E - figure E-1.

Are these new devices?  We have seen some cases lately where devices where obtained through non-TI channels (i.e through a broker) and cannot be programmed.  If this is the case then please send an inquiry to TI's Anti-Counterfeiting team.  They can help answer questions related to material verification such as lot code or die code verification
