F2803x vs F2806x

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDSCNCD28035ISO, CONTROLSUITE

Hello all, I blew up one of the control cards on one of my boards. I had the DRV8301-69M Kit that came with the F2806x control card. I have a friend who had an old DRV8312-C2 kit that came with the F2803x control card.

Can I use this card on my DRV8301-HC-EVM board? It appears that there is a kit sold this way already.

What do I need to do differently for programming if using the card will work?

Can I just plug in and use same code through CCS?

Advise appreciated

Thanks

  • Hi Jesse,

From a hardware perspective, you would have a DRV8301-HC-KIT if you took the TMDSCNCD28035ISO from the DRV8312-C2-KIT kit and put in in the controlCARD slot of the DRV8301-69M-KIT.

You could then use the software and other documentation used with the DRV8301-HC-KIT inside controlSUITE.  Note that the software pre-flashed into the device won't have the code you need and you may want to carefully refer to the documentation as you're getting the kit up and running (double-checking switch settings, etc)

Note that the F28035 MCU does not have InstaSPIN capabilities.

    Thank you,
    Brett
