Rs estimation in InstaSPIN-FOC

PMSM Rs  estimation is achieved by injecting a DC current into D-axis,  if the magnetic field generated by the current injected into D-axis is not in the direction of rotor magnetic field, rotor will be rotary. But in user's guide, it mentions that Rs Offline requires the motor to be at standstill, injecting a DC current into Id.

So how to ensure the motor to be at standstill when injecting a DC current into Id ? Especially when the magnetic field generated by the current injected into D-axis is not in the direction of rotor magnetic field...

  • Set target frequency to zero, disable speed close loop and set the rotor angle to fixed value also.
  • Thank you!
In my mind, set the angle and frequency to zero, disable speed close loop and inject a DC current into Id, if the magnetic field generated by the current injected into D-axis is not in the direction of rotor magnetic field, the rotor will not rotate until the direction of rotor magnetic field is in the direction of the magnetic field generated by the current injected into D-axis. After the rotor rotates in the alignment direction, the rotor will not be rotary and motor will be at standstill...
