Hi all,

we are currently working with a DSP projects using TMS320F28335. we run some sample projects using control suit and we successfully execute in the development board.our IDE is CCS v4 and Jtag is Olimex v3 programmer.If we run around 5 - 6 times loading program into flash memory it may got in permanently block mode. Our 4 development board are permanently locked.Why this happening?how can we take necessary step to avoid this.

In some suggested solution in the forum state that four reason may cause this condition like removing the jtag programmer during program loading, turn off during programming, flash voltage failure, changing boot mode during power.But we had not done any of the above.

Please help to identify why this happening again and again.

No. We are unlock the device with the default password " OxFFFF"

In refferance note "Running an Application from Internal Flash Memory " says
the CSM password is set only after the final stage not in debugging stage.

If you've not set CSM passwords.... did you check with F28335 reference design present in controlSuite?

If we run around 5 - 6 times loading program into flash memory it may got in permanently block mode.

During these 5-6 times of loading program... any ccs errors? or all 5-6 times it programs smoothly and the 7th time the chip gets locked?

can you tell in which section it is mentioned in control suit reference design?

During loading time there is no error occurs two or three times.one time sector erasing message appeared and sector erasing is not properly done message appeared.

After that we deleted the sectors by uniflash but cant load to flash by CSS .Then we checked the CSM password location it appered 0x0000.

You can find all the hardware files here: C:\ti\controlSUITE\development_kits\~controlCARDs\CC2833xHWdevPkg\F28335controlCARD HWDevPkg ZJZ [R2.2]

Simply compare your hardware schematics with the above one and check for any faulty connections.

hi,
we checked the schematic.Both are same except a 820ohm resistor is used in control suit to pull up the boot mode pin ,but it is not provided in our design.Is it necessary ?

For pull up in controll suit 820ohm ,but our design it is 20K
for pull down in control suit 3.3K ,in our design 3.3K.

Also each VDDIO Of TMS320F28335 have powered via inductor 22uH, But our design we are not provided it.

In short you've a weaker pull-up. Try replacing the same with the recommended one.

Its a Ferrite bead which is very much recommended. Though missing the same should not lock your devices.

If the rest is all as it is, you should not face the locking issue unless the Debugger is mischievous.
