DRV8301-HC-EVM J5 header ADC pins: Use as input?

Hi all

I am using the DRV8301-HC-EVM with F28069 MCU (CCS6).

Can I make use of the ADC pins on header J5 as inputs?

These pins are convetionally used for the three output phases on the board, but I am not making use of phase C and have two ADC inputs I'd like to sample.

Yes, you can use the spare pins if these pins were not used by motor control, such as CAPx, QEPx and DAC_PWMx. But you are difficult to use the ADC pins that are used by motor control directly though you are not making use of it, if the EVM version is Rev. D.

The IC-FB of J5 can be used for your input on Rev. B and Rev. C EVM. You can refer to the schemtic of EVM in controlSUITE to know more detail.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm using Rev D, so you say it'll be difficult to input external ADC signals on J5 (if I understand correctly)? Where else on the board might I be able to connect ADC inputs?

yes, have a 1.65v reference volatge on J5-IC_FB from current sample deal ciruit, you need to remove a resistor (R50) if you want to use this IC_FB of J5 for your input. Likewise, you need to remove the resistor (R130) if you want to use the I-TOTAL of J5.
