Package selection for TMS320F28069 microprocessors

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F28069

I have a TMS320F28069MPZT ISO controlCARD with my kits where Insta-Motion and Insta-FOC applications are run easily.

I am moving onto the next step of using the C2000 microcontoller with a custom MOSFET  driver chip.

Can TMS320F28069PZT be used to replace the TMS320F28069MPZT in terms of using the same insta-motion and insta-foc applications?

Both the chips have the same pincount and the package according to digikey.

  • Hi Ecologix123,

The M in the part number (TMS320F28069MPZT) denotes that the device supports InstaSPIN-Motion & InstaSPIN-FOC.  It will also contain a USB peripheral.

An F in that same slot denotes that only InstaSPIN-FOC is supported on this device family.  It will also contain a USB peripheral.

A U in the same slot denotes that the device will contain a USB peripheral.

If the slot is blank, the part number immediately moves on to the package designator.  In this case, no InstaSPIN content exists and the chip does not contain a USB peripheral.

If you need InstaSPIN-Motion, you should be looking at the F2806*M devices.

    Thank you,
    Brett
