Motor Behaviour with different power source.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BOOSTXL-DRV8301, DRV8301, MOTORWARE

Hello team,

I have 350V 200A PMSM motor and currently running with Boostxl-DRV8301 board at 24V 10A. It is going good at no load but as i provide load on shaft, it's speed decreases and torque also.

Now i want to run this motor at 350V, 200A. Should i run the motor with the same parameters? or i have to do tuning again.

  • The speed torques decreases for the torque current and input voltage is not enough. It's better to do tuning again, espically PI regulator parameters, and to identify motor parameters also if possible.
  • Thanks Yanming,

    one more question-

    it is known that we must take USER_IQ_FULL_SCALE_CURRENT_A>=USER_ADC_FULL_SCALE_CURRENT_A/2. Correct me if i am wrong.

    So does this also applied for voltage scaling such as-

    USER_IQ_FULL_SCALE_VOLTAGE_V >=USER_ADC_FULL_SCALE_VOLTAGE_V /2.

    in comment there is recommended to start with a value ~3x greater than the USER_ADC_FULL_SCALE_VOLTAGE_V and increase to 4-5x if scenarios where a Bemf calculation may exceed these limits.

    My board is DRV8301 board and i am using 24V 15A power supply.

    Thanks.

  • Because in spreadsheet in C:\ti\motorware\motorware_1_01_00_16\docs\labs, shows USER_IQ_FULL_SCALE_VOLTAGE_V = 27.4. But in comment there is written that use 3* the USER_ADC_FULL_SCALE_VOLTAGE_V.
