BLDC motor overheating problem with DRV8312 C2-Kit

Hi All,

After basic setup of the DRV8312-C2-KIT and F2805X Control Card and I connect it with my FAULHABER Brushless DC-Servomotor 1628024B.

Ever since, I started from Lab 2a to 3a, the motor gets very hot after maybe a few secs. I blew one of these motor after forgot to turn off the debugged mode.

I set my motor max current to 0.41A in the user.h file and it still keep overheating.

Anyone have ideas why it's happening?

  • You need to identify the motor parameters first using lab02a, and input the identified motor parameters into user.h. Please confirm the motor run smoothly during the identified process, if not, you need to check whether the swith is correct on F2805x controlCard.

The four switches(SW7, SW9, SW10, SW11) on F2805x controlCard need to be set in left position(1, left) before the signal input to F2805x adc port with PGA.
  • the heating issues solved by switched SW3 and SW2 down to position 0. When do I need to set (SW7, SW9, SW10, SW11) to left (position 1) in order to go through all the labs?
