Inverter Closed Current Loop without GRID

Hello,

I am currently working with the TMDSSOLARUINVKIT and trying to test the "Inverter Closed Current Loop without GRID". Section 6.2.3

See link...

www.ti.com/.../tidu608.pdf

As I follow the instructions step by step, I'm not able to see some of the icons I'm told to click on. I have the latest Code Composer Studio CCS 6.2.0 installed.

Click Project  “Rebuild All” button and watch the tools run in the build window.

i) First of all, I don't have a "rebuild all" option, but I'm assuming "Build All" does the same job.

Click Target  ”Debug Active Project”.

ii) I do not see a "Target" to click on. When I navigate a little, then click "Run", then "Debug Configurations", I eventually see "Target", but I don't see "Debug Active Project".

Click on Continuous Refresh button on the watch window to enable continuous update of values from the controller. Using Real-time Emulation

iii) I do not see a "Continuous Refresh" button on the watch window. (I'm assuming the watch window is the one that displays the AddWatchWindowVars_IncrBuild2.js code). And I've looked around. Don't see it.

Enable real-time mode by hovering your mouse on the buttons on the horizontal toolbar and clicking button.

iv) This does not work no matter how many times I hover my mouse on any buttons. I do not have the "Enable real-time mode..." on my horizontal toolbar.

Am I looking at the wrong User Guide? It seems to be current (Revised Feb 2016), and it's very similar revisions from April and May 2014. Is there more software out there I need to install?

Please advise.

  • Hello,

So, I've been able to make some progress by finding some of the steps mentioned (albeit in other areas of the IDE).

    www.ti.com/.../tidu405a.pdf

However, when I get to 6.2.5.3 - Using Real-Time Emulation (pg. 40), I'm not able to find "Enable Silicon Real-Time Mode (service critical interrupts when halted, allow debugger accesses while running)". As stated earlier, I'm using the latest CCS 6.2. Where is this located? And if it's no longer there, what's the like-for-like substitute, or what's the work-around?

Also, how do I pull up the "Watch View"? I've been searching, but I can't find it.

Please advise, as this is time-sensitive.

  • Ovie,

The real time debug button is situated on the top bar, it is a clock sign with a pause icon on top of it,

The watch window is called the expressions view in the new CCS, View-> Expressions

Unfortunately the CCS menu icons are inconsistent between revisions :(
