TMS320F2802x DBRED, DBFED changing during runtime

Hello,customer uses the F28023 and needs to change the dead band register DBRED, DBFED during runtime. He understood that it is not shadowed and will change immediately. When would be the best point in time to change these registers? What does he has to take care?

Holger,

Best time to update the values would be when the DeadBand is not being actively applied on the PWM.
So, it would depend on the ISR trigger point and the PWM edge occurrence (duty on time).
Basically, make sure that the PWM edge (rising or falling or both depending on the config) is not being delayed inside PWM at the time of making the value changes.

Hello Bharathi,
what happend if customer changes the DBRED/DBFED when deadband is active. Is it possible that missing of a PWM happens?

Hi Holger, This could result in unpredictable behavior on PWM pins. It's not recommended to do so.
