Hi everyone,

I'm trying to use the Comparator 2 in a Piccolo C2000 LaunchPad (TMS320F28027), in order to implement Peak Current Mode Control, in a Power Converter. I use the ADC, to sample the output voltage. I need the comparator block for comparing the actual value of the output current with the reference value that derives from the output voltage.

I would like to ask, if it is possible, an interrupt event to be enabled, following the comparator output (whether it is high [1] or low [0]). I would also appreciate it, if you could give me some code examples for the Comparator. The existed examles in Control Suite (for Piccolo F2802x devices) do not include Comparator Codes.

Hi Nick,

Yes, it is possible to trigger an interrupt based on a Comparator event. We have two reference designs/kits that implement peak current mode control using Piccolo devices. The C2000 Digital Power Training Kit implements peak current control of a buck converter using a F28035 device. The HVPSFB kit implements peak current mode control of a phase shifted full bridge converter using a F28027 device.

You can use either of the two as a reference but I recommend starting with the former as the workshop/training s/w structure might be easier to follow. You can refer to DPS Workshop wiki page to find out more about the C2000 Digital Power Training Kit along with all relevant software and documentation.
