Starterware/SM73201-ARC-EV: SM73201-ARC-EV , RD 195 , Set Up , selt test and programming issues

Hi TI,

We are also facing the same following issues with RD195. 

1. Upon power up - LD 4 and LD 5 are on , no blinking of status Led is observed.

2. While manually pressing the SW1 , no self test inferences are observed. 

3. The communication with device is also not operational. We have tried it out with , termite, hyper terminal. With my knowledge i would have to assume that device has not been programmed. 

4. Please find the RD195 board images below - It seems that the board is not programmed. (All pins of J5 port are present)

 We have also tried the following:

3. Communication setup - RS232 - The status is connected. However, the board is not responding. PFA.

(a) Termite:

(b) Hyper Terminal

(c) TI Arc Detection GUI - It is able to identify COM3. However, the status is NO CONNECTION TO RD195

We would like to seek your suggestions for the following:

1. We have downloaded and build the example program for Arc detection provided by TI. The programme was successfully bult with no errors in CCS v6.

  Can we debug this program into the current RD 195 module?  If yes, please suggest the procedure and jtag part number.

2. Can we receive a pre programmed board as replacement for the current board. We have a requirement for more RD 195 evaluation boards, how would i ensure that boards are pre - programmed in my next purchase ? please advice . 

3. What is the lead-time for replacing the board we have received.

4 . We have installed the Arc detection interface GUI . Couldn't find the instruction manual or application note , could u please send us a link or document containing the use cases.

    I might be able to answer some of the programming questions. I will have to defer to someone else on the logistics

    I use a spectrum digital XDS510 USB plus to load code and debug on this board. You connect through CCS using the ccxml file provided along with the software (under the ccs/ folder).

    The RD-195 board you have is not programmed. Please program the board or return it for a replacement.

    Dear Chris,
    Could u please provide the contact of the agency or person incharge for returning the board ? As mentioned before, the order was received in Singapore.

    Meanwhile, we would like to purchase a PROGRAMMED ARC DETECTION EVALUTION BOARD. Is there any way we can confirm from a particular seller that the board has been programmed ? Reading the posts i understand that there is a particular stock of RD 195 boards that hasnt been programmed.

    As the project time is running out, we would like to purchase a pre-programmed RD -195 board while waiting for the replacement of the one purchased earlier.


    Could you pls let us know the seller with corrected RD 195 stock and who can ship to Singapore.
