In TMS320F2837xD Technical Reference Manual (SPRUHM8) in chapter 20.2 there is a note that for I2C operation GPIO pins should be set for asynchronous operation. Is this a requirement or a recommendation? I have an application in noisy environment and would really like to use input qualification to filter out noise. If I set up the qualification according to I2C Electrical Data and Timing (SPRS880, chapter 5.10.2.1) I should be fine right?
