TMS320F28069M: EEPROM programming on ControlCARD

TI,

I am using the TMS320F28069MPZT ControlCARD.   On this control card, there is a small EEPROM connected to the FT2232H device (isolated USB JTAG interface). 

My questions are ...

  • What is the purpose of this EEPROM?  Is it overriding the default FT2232H configuration?
  • Is it necessary for the EEPROM to be pre-programmed?   If not, how/when does it typically get programmed?
