TMS320F28069: HID ballast design using the TMS320F28069

Part Number: TMS320F28069

Has anyone tried using the F28069 in a HID ballast application? Microchip has a nice app note explaining an example HID design using a digital controller. The only problem is, it use a dsPIC and I'd rather not have to learn a whole new processor. If anybody has tried this before, it would be nice to hear from you. Thanks Chuck

    Hi Chuck,

    I am aware of several customers using our devices for this type of application and using a C2000 is feasible.  However, as you've seen, we don't have any specific collateral to get someone started quickly in this application.

    Before closing, I will say that the F2806x likely has a bit more resources/bandwidth than might be strictly necessary for this application (perhaps the F2803x is a good choice).  Not an issue, but may be something worth noting for future readers.
