CCS: dsp to ethernet data transfer

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F2812

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

hello TI,

I am working on the project based on yarn clearer machine used in textile industries.the data from machine is transferred to dsp tms320f2812 through rs232. Now i want your help that how can I send that data to PC through ethernet. Which ethernet controller is suitable which can get data through SPI lines from dsp and sends data to PC through ethernet.

Please help if anyone can.

Thank you.

Monali

  • Monali,

Are you required to use F2812? If so, you will need to find a SPI to ethernet bridge device. Keeping within the C2000 family, We do have the F28M35x and F28M36x devices. These have a C28x core (like the F2812) as well as an M3 core with an on-chip Ethernet MAC. Alternately, there is the TM4C129x line of device that also have a SPI and Ethernet available.

    Thanks,

  • Hello Mark,
Thanks for suggestion, but I have to use only 2812. Is it work well with ethernet controller ENC28j60? And how it will work? If you or anyone have any idea, please help.!!!
    Thanks

  • Monali,

If you are only in need of the SPI to Ethernet Bridge, then it looks like that is one solution. It appears that the device operates like most other SPI controlled ICs. There will be some command/response structure that must be followed. I recommend that you read through that datasheet and implement the custom drivers for the interface on the F2812. You can probably find many people here who have created drivers for DACs and ADCs for guidance on implementing this sort of thing.

    Thanks,
    Mark
