TMS320F28027F: Motorware and AIO pins

Hello -

I am designing a custom controller pcb with the F28027F. I have run out of GPIO pins :-)

I have several unused AIO pins, however. In reading about these (information seems limited), it appears that these AIO pins can be configured to behave just like GPIO pins. Is this correct? If so, how might I go about configuring and using these pins within Motorware?

Ideally, I need to use 2 of these AIO pins as digital inputs (read a switch), and 1 as a digital output (drive an LED).

Any assistance is much appreciated.
