CCS/TMDSDOCK28335: Experimenter kit is not connecting to the CCS

Part Number: TMDSDOCK28335

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Dear All,

I have baught two nos. of TMDSDOCK28335 experimenter kit. When I am trying to connect with CCS V4 one is working fine but another one is not working. It is giving out the below error

"Error connecting to the target: (Error -151 @ 0x0) One of the FTDI driver functions used during the connect returned bad status or an error. The cause may be one or more of: invalid XDS100 serial number, blank XDS100 EEPROM, missing FTDI drivers, faulty USB cable. Use the xds100serial command-line utility in the 'common/uscif' folder to verify the XDS100 can be located."

What I will do now. Can anybody reply?

  • Rashmi,

For debug let's only connect one of the kits at a time.

    Experiment 1.

Try taking the NOT-working ControlCARD and plug it into the working dock and see if you can connect to it.

    Experiment 2.

Use the working ControlCARD with the NOT-working dock and see if you can connect to those.

If you can connect in Experiment 1 and not in experiment 2 it looks like you have a communication issue between your PC and the dock. While the not-working dock is connected to your computer you should see "TI XDS100 Channel A" and "TI XDS100 Channel B" under Device Manager->Universal Serial Bus Controllers. If you cannot see these try going through this post "https://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/c2000/f/171/t/21086" to reprogram the FTDI chip on the Dock.

    Regards,
    Cody
