CCS/TMS320F28377D: Flash checksum inside "On-Chip Flash"

Hi,

Customer wanted a function to calculate Flash checksum automatically, in CCS for F28377D (just like F28335).

This is used for a third party verify, if the code MP product code is changed.

Is it possible? Another tool outside of CCS, could be a solution, but it's not customer's request. The function inside CCS is better.

We do not have this feature in F2837xD CCS Flash Plugin as of now.

As you know, Flash technology and the Flash wrapper used in F2837xD is different than that of F28335. We concentrated on providing all the must-required features for the new technology at first and checksum was not part of it.

You might have noticed that the F28004x Flash Plugin that we released recently has the checksum feature. We need to roll this feature in to F2837xD as well. We are discussing on that as we speak.

What is the timeline that customer is looking for this feature?

FYI for others: We proposed to load and execute a checksum test from RAM after programming the Flash. Customer is working in this direction.

Checksum feature is now available for F2837xD, F2837xS and F2807x devices in CCS v7 Flash Plugin. Please check for updates and install below packages.

1) DebugServer Flash Version 7.3.0.1083
2) TI C2000 Device Support Version 4.2.2.0

FYI for folks referring to this thread: Checksum feature is supported for F2837xD, F2837xS and F2807x devices only in CCSv7 and onwards.

If you are not able to get above mentioned packages in CCSv7 updates, follow below procedure to get the updates.

1) In CCSv7, go to 'Windows -> Preferences'
2) In the preferences window, go to 'Install/Update -> Available Software Sites'.
3) Find the 'Code Composer Studio v7 Updates' entry, click on it and click on 'Reload' button on the right hand side.
4) Search for updates in CCSv7 again and you should get the above packages. Install the packages.
