Hello,

In 32-bit async mode does a burst or dma mode exist for the EMIF?

If yes, then how do Ienable it? If I want to do a burst read from an async part?

Hi,

System DMA can do bulk transfer via EMIF. Is that what you are looking for? Or something else? There is no inbuilt DMA inside EMIF.

Just to clarify, then you’re saying that we can DMA in async mode for the EMIF? I’m talking about using CS2 to CS4.

Yes, DMA have access to EMIF1 hence it can be used to READ/WRITE via EMIF irrespective of ASYNC or SDRAM mode.

Thank you for the prompt reply on the DMA EMIF for async feature of the Delfino.

My next question is what do I have to do to initiate a DMA transfer in async mode?

Would you refer me to the specific sections of the TI datasheet for the Delfino or any related application notes for it?

I’m on the peripheral side of things relative to the Delfino; and any kind of control or acknowledgement signals that I have to provide to the Delfino are of interest to me.
