TMDSDC3359: Zero configuration GUI

Part Number: TMDSDC3359

Hi,

I'm working with TMDSDC3359 modem and I'm having problems with the zero configuration GUI, I can't change the frequency band from CENELEC to FCC can you help me please?

  • Moving this to the C2000 forum.
  • hi ,

First of all you cant use the Zero config GUI to configure the TMDSDC3359 board .

Also to use FCC the SOM on the TMDS board should be an FCC SOM ( F28375x)

If the board is right , refer to the section " Running G3 DC Demo"  in TI G3 DC Software User Guide.doc , part of the SDK to change the frequency band from CENELEC to FCC .

    Regards .

  • Hello,

I'm a hardware engineer chartered to investigate PCL robustness of the on (3) phase grid.

I purchased the TMDSDC3359 Data Concentrator Evaluation Modules which includes hardware to communicate on the power line, but TeraTerm communication is too advanced for a freshmen programmer to verify Bit Error Rates and lost packets.  I had hoped the startup software  'Zero Configuration GUI Version 2.103 would at least be an initial starting point.  Unfortunately, I can not communication between the (2) modules using a single PC with USB to RS-232 convertors on COM 4 and COM5 ports.

Any suggestion on where to look next for start up software?  I'm about to return the Modules back to TI.

    Early thank you

    Chris

  • Hi Chris,

The TMDSDC3359 Data Concentrator Evaluation Module is designed for the head-end systems which communicate with the end meters (“service node”) in the neighborhood area network.

So in a system ideally , there would be 1 Data Concentrator  & several “service nodes”.

The  (“service node”) are developed using the below modules.

The Data Concentrator does not use   'Zero Configuration GUI ' but only use either LAN or the Tera term  ....the modems do use ZCG to communicate and develop.

The SDK for both with the documents & firmware can be found below :

    Regards.

  • Thank you for the follow up.
Is it possible to have (3) or more Service node modules communicating and addressing directly to each other without the master Data Concentrator?
    Chris
  • Hi Chris ,

The Network creation is ideally done by the data concentrator .(DC)

Any further communication can be done without the DC  .

For a 32 node network , even the service nodes modem ( ie . the TMDSPLCKITV4-CEN kits ) could be used  as the master.

So we can have 1 modem used as the master and rest as slaves.

    Regards.
