TMS320F28075: IF3 interrupt and management

On page 2098 of the Technical Reference Manual you read
"The NewDat bit in the message object will be reset by a transfer to IF3."

And what about IntPnd bit? Is IntPnd bit reset by a transfer to IF3? If not how can I reset it?

On the following line you read
"If CAN internal IF3 update is complete, an IF3 interrupt can also be generated."

However I haven't found how to enable/disable this interrupt and how to connect it to 0 or 1 line (CAN_IP_MUX21 is useless for this purpose).
Where is explained how to manage IF3 interrupt?

IPMUX21 register only operates on the mailbox level. i.e. it is used to choose the interrupt line for a specific mailbox. Which IF register set is used for a mailbox has no bearing on IPMUX21 register. I am researching into your other question about IntPnd for IF3 register.

I am sorry for the delay in replying. As to your question "How to enable/disable IF3 interrupt?", interrupts are enabled/disabled at the mailbox level, not at the level of interface registers. I looked at the module spec and it appears many operations concerning IF3 is closely tied to DMA, which is not supported for CAN in this device. I am checking with the Design team on the implementation details.

What is the value of your CAN_IF3OBS register? Have you observed the effect of reading of all the fields indicated by the IF3OBS register (on the IntPnd bit)?

Hi Hareesh,

thank you for your answers.

I admit that I still haven't made the test of reading CAN_IF3OBS register, because in the last few weeks I worked on other parts of the project.

In the next days I should come back to work on CANopen communication so I'll make the test you suggest and some other tests I've in my mind to check IntPnd bit behaviour.

In the meantime if you have some news I'll read them gladly.

I've just completed some tests and I've found that the IntPnd bit in the message object (mailbox) is reset by a transfer to IF3.

In other words IntPnd and NewDat have the same behaviour.
