TMS320F28PLC84: G3-PLC CEN A throughput in a linear configuration?

Part Number: TMS320F28PLC84

This was a question a client of ours asked and I was not sure how to come up with a number. If we have a number of service nodes(PLC84 chipset, CEN A, Robo mode) - say 250 for the sake of argument - and only one node is connected directly to the data concentrator (hence the linear as opposed to mesh topology), how bad would the throughput get.

If we break this down - (a) how long would it take for all the service nodes to join the network at power up and (b) what would the data throughput reduce to if 249 nodes had to send their data through the first service node attached to the DC - assuming that we were in CENELEC A band in ROBO mode? I imagine the final data throughput number should subtract the data bandwidth consumed by housekeeping messages between nodes - for updating tables etc?

Thanks for any answers.
