If I gave phase shift of phi(TBPHS) to EPWMreg5, Is it with respect to EPWMreg1 or EPWMreg4(prior to that register) ??

Hi,
It could be either, depending on how you have the other ePWM peripherals configured.
How is ePWM4's SYNCOSEL configured?
Hopefully this helps!

Yedida,
For F28335 you should look at Figure 9 of the ePWM Reference Guide, this will show you how the sync chain is connected. ePWM5's SYNCI comes from ePWM4's SYNCO. If you want to connect ePWM5's sync signal to come from ePWM1, that is possible. You will need to simply select the correct choices for EPWM1SYNCO and EPWM4SYNCO, these options are also detailed in the ePWM Reference Guide linked earlier in the post.

Cody
Hi Brett Larimore,
Thank you for your prompt response. All EPWM modules synchronized to TBCLKSYNC but when we are doing master slave synchronization wil it effects?
Thanks,
Hi Yedida,
TBCLKSYNC is not really relevant to the question at hand.
I would recommend taking a look at both Figure 5 and Figure 9 of the F2833x ePWM User Guide for more details (SPRUG04A, at the time of this post):
http://www.ti.com/lit/sprug04
Figure 5 shows how one ePWM module will utilize its upstream PWM's PWMSYNCI and create its downstream PWM's PWMSYNCO. Figure 9 shows how the various ePWM modules PWMSYNCI and PWMSYNCO connect together.
[note that PWM7-9 do not exist on the F2833x device]
After looking at these figures, relook at my response above. I think it should make more sense.
Thank you,
Brett
