Hello,

I have to perform double pulse test (DPT) to evaluate the switching performance of IGBT. For this reason, I have to generate one long and one short pulse with ePWM signal. I am confusing how to write such logic in CCS 4.0. I hope, someone here can help me with the required logic.

Hi Saleem,

Simply refer the ePWM example available in controlSuite. All you need to do is change the duty of the waveform (as far as I understand from above post)

Ok! Now I understand. Using ePWM module would complicate things as frequency is varying.
There are other ways to realize this waveform. Let me explain one of them:

1. As you know the Period of repetition is 5Hz ie 200ms: Setup a CpuTimer of 200ms
2. Now simply create the required waveform using GPIO toggling :)

I don't have doubt in your answer and I know your logic can also be true to implement.

But, real confusion is how to write the logic code for this?

In my case, the ePWM signal should remain low for first 5usec and then turn high for next 20 usec and then turn off for 2 usec and then turn on for 2usec and then remain low for all the time.

Please write this logic for me

Saleem:
First, I would update to a newer version of CCS - version 7 is the latest, and it appears to be very stable, much more than version 4.

I would then look at the blink LED example code available on either ControlSuite or C2000Ware.

You can start with that code. As I see it, here is what you have outlined:

1. Take GPIO low.
2. Wait 5 usec.
3. Take GPIO high.
4. Wait 20 usec.
5. Take GPIO low.
6. Wait 2 usec.
7. Take GPIO high.
8. Wait 2 usec.
9. Take GPIO low.

If you look at the example, there is a default clock for the processor. You may have a different clock...
Also, you will need to choose a GPIO that is compatible with your application.
