I've never heard about such a function. I am just curioous why you would like to have this - is there any benefit in having less accuracy? Do you need this for further runtime calculation in your application or would you just like to display the rounded value?

I'm working on motor control, and we have some problems in the bridge (is old) due to the age of the semiconductors (there are BJT!). So I need a fast runtime of calculation and I've observed that the motor goes best if the accuracy is not high.

The only thing that comes into my mind is a handmade assembly ceiling/rounding routine... Did you think about this already?

Maybe the IQsat - function is what you are looking for. This function "saturates" a value between max and min.

I didn't know the existence of IQ function, well, I'm going to check it and maybe I've to do some routine to ceil or round the content of this variable.

can you maybe tackle this problem somewhere else up or downstream? perhaps changing the PID coefficients?  seems like you are getting too much reaction out of small changes in the feedback.
