This is pin compatible. Also, TI will now be offering the DIM connector under part number TMDSDIM100CON5PK. (this will appear on www.ti.com/c2000tools soon)

Unless I am missing something obvious this link is saying the part (0712515101) is planned for obsolescence  as well ... 

Following the proposal I received from distribution partner Arrow. Seems like Tyco already recommended this one as a direct replacement.

We are looking into the Tyco connector and whether or not it is pin compatible. From the datasheet it looks like it will be, but we're going to wait until we can test one to confirm.

However, the Molex connector is available directly from TI under part number TMDSDIM100CON5PK for $7.99. www.ti.com/c2000tools

Since TI is not the manufacturer of this item, it will be difficult for many if not all to design this part in a system when the original manufacturer, Molex, is going to obsolete the part. It will be good if Tyco part works out ......

They Tyco part is made on a "per order" basis.

We will order many thousands of them, and keep them in stock.  Most customers are only using several to do proto runs. I'm not familiar with anyone using them in a planned multi-year production environment.  Are you, Arefeen?

We are already planning on the next generation of controlCARD interface, and will choose something that will certainly be a high, long-time runner in the industry.  We won't make this switch for Piccolo devices yet (to keep compatibility with current application kits) but will look at this for next higher pin-count devices that won't re-use the application kits as directly.

I was trying to give you guys a heads up that the part is going obsolete .. if having a stock in house works for you then all is good :-)  No, our production plan doesn't include "control card" .

I found a right angle version (we have very limited vertical space):

Must order 3000+ and no stock or samples anywhere.

I'm thinking there might be some angled versions somewhere.  I read that these connectors are very common for printer memory.

I think If TI want to keep their DIMM 100 as standard, they should build&provide all conectors.... They build high tech components?? Is it so difficult to build DIMM100 sockets???    They should move to EUROCARD, because this is an industry standard....

The problem is that I need the right angle dimm 100 connector. My design is limited to that.

I dont mind TI wants to keep DIMM100, but connector is becoming a problem. 

Can you help me finding the right angle dimm 100 ???? I really need it, and TMDSDIM100CON5PK is not valid for me.

There are no right-angle DIMM100 connectors in production that I am aware of.  If needed, I would recommend contacting connector manufacturers like TE Connectivity or Molex.

Long term, C2000's strategy is to slowly migrate to Samtec HSEC8-based controlCARDs.  The F28M36x controlCARD was the first of these.  Most future controlCARDs will also be in this new format.  A few of the current and popular controlCARDs will be released in this format over time as well.

In 2-4 years we'd like to only be selling a few (mostly legacy) DIMM100-based kits. Until then we will continue to support both the DIMM100 and HSEC8. 

Note that there is an adapter card which allows a HSEC8 cCARD to plug into a DIMM100-based baseboard.

Now I understand it all.  How is TMS320F28335 control card going? When is expected to be available the new version??

Is it available the control card design files for altium (for example) ?

The 'F28335 is very likely to be an MCU that will migrate to the new HSEC format.

The migration effort is a low-priority task for C2000 and therefore an estimate will be difficult to give at this point.  I would say about 3-9months for this one.

Which program has been used to create the control card ???

I need to import the control card to altium to modify it and build my own. Basically I will change the dimm100 to EUROCARD.

The current (DIMM100) F28335 cCARD's schematic was done in OrCAD and the layout was done in PADS.  All design information for this card is located in controlSUITE.

(FYI: I believe that Altium has a way to import in other CAD programs' files)
