Hi,

I am using CCS Version: 6.1.2.00015 and am trying to connect to the target via XDS100v2 debug probe. I am getting errors in regards to the FTDI driver.

I see that running the serialxds.exe gives me correct VID/PID:

The device manager also shows XDS debug channels correctly installed:

The test connection works as well but it is still not able to connect to the target. I get the following error message:

IcePick_C_0: Error connecting to the target: (Error -151 @ 0x0) One of the FTDI driver functions used during the connect returned bad status or an error. The cause may be one or more of: no XDS100 is plugged in, invalid XDS100 serial number, blank XDS100 EEPROM, missing FTDI drivers, faulty USB cable. Use the xds100serial command-line utility in the 'common/uscif' folder to verify the XDS100 can be located. (Emulation package 6.0.579.0)

I have been at it for a couple of days. Can anyone please help me. I tried installing and updating the latest FTDI drivers as well. But no luck.

Hi Sanjana,

Did you try using the same debugger on a different PC? Also, its doubtful after a successful "Test Connection" for the debugger to be faulty or have driver issue.

Hi Sanjana,

What hardware are you using?

If you're using a TMDSDOCK28M36 or TMDSCNCD28M36, please take a look at this controlCARD infosheet. It can be found at the below path within controlSUITE:
\controlSUITE\development_kits\~controlCARDs\TMDSCNCD28M36_v1_3\R1_1\

Specifically look at the 'Using the controlCARD' section. Note that both D3 & A:D2 should be lit if the controlCARD is powered adequately (assuming you're going to debug via CCS).

I still have the same issue and no solution. The FTDI drivers are up to date and the target configurations also looks good. Any suggestions?

Also, I ran the test code dual core Blinky in the "deviceSupport" folder and that seems to work fine without issues. So is it really FTDI issue? The current project that gives error is a bootloader program with dual core blinky as an application.

Will reinstalling help? Where can I find the latest driver to install?

Its not! Your current project seems to have an issue then.
