C2000-GANG: Choosing the best C2000 Programmer.

You can load the .out files on SD Card and simply select the .hex file to be programmed. So no computer interface required!

SD card could be helpful but, I read that I can use only one file ".c2000gangbin" which is a configuration of C2000gang software.

In that case, I have to do two ".c2000gangbin" files (one with the bootloader and one one with the firwmare) and I have to use two SD card.
Is it right? If so, is it possible to combined my bootloader and firmware in one ".c2000gangbin"?

Hi Alex,

It is definitely much better to create one file. You should combine two hex file (firmware and boot) to one hex file, and use this file as one code file to your project. When done, you can create one *.c2000gangbin file. In the SD on the main directory can be only one file *.c2000gangbin. All other files would be ignored. That is intentionally created for production - just do not make the mistake by operator. You can create subdirectory and save many file for documentation, history etc. and these files would be ignored.

In my case the firmware and bootloader are two different project. Thus, the builder creater two different .hex file.

Hi,

You can convert these two files to hex TI format, and attach the one file at the end of the second file using notepd editor. Make sure that end character q" located at the end of the file is moved after second file. Save that file and open with C2000-GANG. Check if there no any warnings - that means - that data are not specified for the same location twice.

Hi,
As I wrote, convert first that file to TI format. Now you have the Intel format. You can read code file using C2000-GANG, open the file, go to View Code file and save it as TI hex format. Do the same with the second file and combine code as I described before.

By the way, when I opened the combined file I read some warning like "code file contents warning" or "Adr xxxx overwritten xxx".

Check Overwritten parts. Probably linker added common part in your code. You should know the correct one, otherwise it will not work. Looks that the designer created two code and did not take a care about the common part.
