TMS320F28069: Lifetime of TMS320F28069PZ

Part Number: TMS320F28069

Hi all,

I'd like to know lifetime data of F28069PZ.

I read "SPRA963B" but there was no description about this device.

  • Hareesh-san,

    Thank you for your support.
By the way, do you have the result of calculating POH of F28069?
If you had it, I want it.

    Best regards,
    Sasaki
  • Shigetsuna-san,

The POH should come from your own assessment of the end equipment. We design our parts to be run 100% at 10 years x 105 Tj before wear-out mechanisms start to happen. If you reduce Tj, that 10 years extends out.

You should start with what is the goal for your end-system reliability to your customers. Examples of requirements can be 3 years for a laptop, 7 years for a camera, 15 years for telecom systems, 20 years for eMeter. From that, then assess how often it is powered on / powered off during that time. For example, an eMeter targets 20 years but near 100% on. A car on the other hand, requires its electronics to be 15 years but it is only powered on 10% of that time – power on for automotive is then only 1.5 years.

The second aspect is for you to study how much time is spent at the different temperatures in that time period. In some circumstances such as a server farm, it is relatively constant. eMeters also run at low temperatures.

The Effective Tj determines the approximate point when wear-out occurs and in most cases, it is well beyond what is needed for end system reliability.
  • Hareesh-san,

    Thank you for your support!
I will refer to the above.
