Hi i am using piccolo 28069M launchpad for implementing CAN network between 3 same launchpadI am very new to CAN network . It has eCAN module inside . My question is is there any need of external CAN trans-receiver for connecting Tx-Rx pin . If yes please suggest me CAN trans-receiver module part number.

Hi Indrajit,

The above launchpad already has an on-board CAN transceiver U3 - SN65HVD234D.

Thanks for your reply. But which pins are to be used in CAN communication. are they UART Tx-RX pin as CAN-high and CAN low respectively.

Nope, please check the schematic of the board that can be found here:

Here's the CAN section, J12 is where you'll get the CANH and CANL pinouts.

Please refer to page 7 of SLOA101A to determine how to properly terminate the bus. The bus must be terminated only at either ends and with a 120-ohm resistor. In other words, no more than two terminator resistors may be present on the bus, unless split termination is followed, in which case there will be two resistors on either ends
