TMS320F28069: About the Meaning of the First Line of an Intel Hex (romwidth=16)

Hi,

Here is a start of an example, which I generated via Hex2000 with options "-romwidth=16 -memwidth=16 -i"

I understand all the lines except the first one.

For example: Line 2:

: Beginning notation

02 Byte count

0000 Lower Address (no meaning for this line)

04 Record Type (here higher address)

003E Higher Address (for F28069 it belongs to flash section C which I assigned to CLA )

BC Checksum

So, my question is about the first line. Could anyone explain what does it mean? Or just give a link of such a document to read if possible. Thanks very much!

But I cannot it figure out. Maybe I didn't make my question clear. :-) My question is about the two section of the first line of a hex file, that is 0480 and 190156C3FFFF0006. What do they mean? About device type or something like that?

Hi Lori,

Update: I made a tiny mistake by writing the link file. Some data sections were assigned to program section, therefore, the first line of the hex file doesn't belong to the valid flash memory address range. 0x0480 is a RAM address. After I corrected it, it disappears. :-)
