Can I change registers‘ value under CCS Debug mode while the code the running？

Hi there, I have a F28377S luanchpad and I want to change some registers's value of the MCU when I debug it, when I tired to change GPADAT register GPIO13 bit from 0 to 1(this will make the LED on the launchpad off), but I failed to do it with the GPIO13 bit value unchanged, is there something wrong?

Hi,

Check whether the GPIO is configured as input or output. You should set the GPIO as output to alter the GPxDAT register.

Thank you for your response. I have configured GPIO13 pin as output：
GPIO_SetupPinMux(13, GPIO_MUX_CPU1, 0);
GPIO_SetupPinOptions(13, GPIO_OUTPUT, GPIO_PUSHPULL);
I am using CCS 6.1，the problem confused me

Hello

Try to use a newer version of CCS. I loaded a blinky example to RAM using CCS 6.2.00050, set breakpoint, and changed GPIO value for LED without issue. Value in the reset window didn't update until I turned on "Continuous refresh", which you look to already have enabled.

I will use a newer version of ccs, btw, can I update my ccs by Help->Check for Updates, I tried this way but failed, with a message box showing：No updates were found. Do I have to download the installation package？ Is there better ways to get updated？

The newest CCS versions aren't available as an update, you'll have to download it separately: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Download_CCS
