LAUNCHXL-F28377S: Basics of HRPWM

Hi,

I want to implement pwm (30nsec-50nsec duration), so I check sample codes of hrpwm_ex1_duty_sfo_v8, hrpwm_ex2_prdupdown_sfo_v8 and so on.

I tried to implement pwm in my source code then I met following error;

#20 identifier "ePWM" is undefined init.c /ctrl_dsp line 201 C/C++ Problem

I think that this is include issue, but I have no idea (I have also checked include options in preference of the example codes).

Does anyone know how to solve this error?

Hi Takano,

If you're using the example source in your project, have you have defined ePWM as an array of pointers to EPWM register structs as in the example?

volatile struct EPWM_REGS *ePWM[PWM_CH] =
{ &EPwm1Regs, &EPwm1Regs, &EPwm2Regs, &EPwm3Regs, &EPwm4Regs,
&EPwm5Regs, &EPwm6Regs, &EPwm7Regs, &EPwm8Regs};

Hi Elizabeth,

Ah, I have overlooked the sample code, thanks for your addressing my miss understand.

Although I think a value of PWM_CH and number of entry in the array is up to us, but I do not yet understand what is the CH (channel?, so number of channel, then what is the channel?, simply one channel is one PWM?).

Hi Takano,

You're right. The PWM_CH value is up to you and it's the number of PWMs used + 1. So if using EPWM1, EPWM2, and EPWM3 then PWM_CH should be set to 4.
