Those pins are needed for the ADC reference voltage. They should be handled as specified in the datasheet for proper operation.

All ADCs need a reference voltage. The theory behind it is probably beyond the scope of this thread. I would recommend that you research ADC architectures to understand how they are used. A good starting point is Flash ADC.

For your original F2808 question, TI only supports ADC operation when the pins are treated as specified in the datasheet.

So as per your statement, ADC Reference voltages are basic additional requirements to convert analog to digital (or performing ADC logic)?
