Hello, 

My controller has been flash locked. 

How can i get it out of this state?

    Hi Rajan,

    You need password to unlock the device. If you do not know the password then nothing can be done and you need to replace the device.

    Hello Vivek,

    How can i set the password? I have locked this device without knowing the password.

    This has happened randomly. Is there a way that I can set the password to the new device so that in case it happens again I can unlock it.

    This is the second device that it has happened to. What causes this controller to go into locked state?

    Please advise.

    Rajan,

    If you do not know the password then it can not be unlocked.

    If device is getting lock even though you are not programming the password values then there must be some interruption during flash operation which is causing this. Flash operation should never be interrupted on this device.

    Is there a way for me to place a password on a new device, just in case it is interrupted during flash and i want to recover it ?

    Also is this device unusable now? Is there any way I can upload code on it ever again ?

    If you program the password then device will be secure and you may have to change your software to work on secure device. It'll be good to know what is interrupting the flash operation and avoid that.

    Yes, you need to replace the device because it can not be used.

    Hello Vivek,

    Can you point me to the document that tells me how to set up the password and how my software will be changed.

    I may have interrupted the flash by powering off the device when flashing. I know this is something I can avoid but just as precautionary measure I would like to add the password.

    Rajan,

    In F28027 device, last 8 locations of flash (0x3F7FF8 - 0x3F7FFF) can be programmed to secure device.

    Please use f2802x_csmpasswords.asm to program password in 0x3F7FF8 - 0x3F7FFF). This file is available in controlSuite
