LAUNCHXL-F28377S: uPP Duplex Mode able?

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-F28377S

Hi Ti-forum,

I have another question about the uPP Modul of F28377S µC. I did a simplex communication between two microcontrollers with uPP. But I need a Duplex communication for my project.

Is the F28377S Microcontroller able to do a duplex mode?

I read the wiki-ti side. Because of this website, I thougt the µC needs other Pins with function uPP for Channel B. Or can I use normal GPIOs to feed the Channel B for Duplex-Mode?

And is it a "half" or "full" Duplex-Mode which uPP is able to do?

If the F28377s isn´t able to do a uPP-Duplex-Mode, can somone call one µC or DSP from TI which is able to do a uPP Duplex Mode.

Many Thanks in advance!!!

Best Regards,

Stefan

  • Hi Stefan,

uPP only supports simplex mode. This is part of the IP feature. You need to consider some other IP (e.g. SPI) for duplex mode.

  • Hi Vivek Singh,
    thank you for your answer.

If uPP only supports simplex mode, why I can choose duplex mode in the settings of uPP? Because of that, I thought that one processor is supports uPP with duplex mode at least.
At the wiki-side processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Introduction_to_uPP there is a "High-Speed Data Transfer to FPGA or External uPP" figure. At this picture there are lines from DSP to external device from Channel A and from external device to DSP Channel B. Is this simplex-mode too?

And sorry for this question, but what does IP mean? IP-Core? Interface Peripheral?

    Many thanks in advance again.
    Best regards,
    Stefan
