I am using TMS320F28377S and I would like to use McBSP to interface with the sensors which use RS485 and RS422 as the physical interface.
I have got a brief idea about McBSP after reading the McBSP section in the Technical Reference Manual. But I am still quite confused.
Considering that I have 4 external RS485 and 4 external RS422 devices, and there are two McBSPs (say McBSPa and McBSPb) in TMS320F28377S, I will dedicate McBSPa for 4 external RS485 devices and McBSPb for 4 RS422 devices. Is it possible?
There are 6 pins for McBSP. So how many pins are required for connecting McBSP to 4 external (RS422/RS485) devices? Is it similar to SPI where we need slave select for all other devices? Or 6 pins are enough to connect to all the 4 devices?
Are Time Division Multiplexing and Multi channel concepts introduced so that McBSP can connect to multiple devices? In my case, is it good to use Time Division Multiplexing and Multi channel concepts to connect to 4 external (RS485/RS422) devices?
